Kate Romero

I’m a therapist dedicated to fostering a relationship where the most important elements of effective therapy—empathy, trust, and collaboration—are at the forefront. I believe that these common factors are the foundation of meaningful change and personal growth. In our work together, you’ll find that I prioritize building a strong, supportive relationship where you feel understood and valued. This often means putting you in the driver’s seat of your therapy journey. I am here to provide the education and guidance necessary to help you make informed choices, but you will be the one who ultimately decides which therapeutic approaches best suit your unique experiences and goals.

I have extensive experience supporting individuals dealing with sexual trauma, substance abuse, and anger management, as well as mood disorders and experiences with loss or grief. My training spans a variety of therapeutic modalities, with a particular emphasis on Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Each of these modalities offers unique tools and perspectives that can be tailored to fit your specific needs. I often combine these cognitive-behavioral approaches with more humanistic and emotion-focused methods to create a flexible and responsive therapeutic environment.

When you come to therapy, it can feel isolating, overwhelming, and uncertain. I take a holistic and integrative approach to therapy, considering all aspects of your well-being. By combining evidence-based techniques with a compassionate and individualized approach, I aim to support you in achieving balance and harmony in your life. Side by side, we can walk your path toward lasting and positive change.
