Men’s Process Group

Do you experience difficulty recognizing and accepting your feelings, especially feelings other than anger? Do you want to better understand the type of man you want to be? Do you find yourself avoiding or ignoring your emotions? Do you find it difficult to navigate intimacy and being vulnerable in your relationships?

Being a man in this day and age can be challenging and complicated.

We are constantly bombarded by social expectations of what it means to be “a man” in a way that may or may not align with our values. This group is aimed at men who are looking for a space in which they can explore how all of these things interact in their life and who are looking to develop ways of responding and relating to others that are meaningful to them.

This will be a closed group, which means group members stay from the beginning to the end of the cycle. This allows the group to get to know one another and develop the trust and openness that is necessary for growth to happen. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from fellow group members’ experiences and to receive feedback in a safe environment.

This group will be led by Matt Fishman, LMSW, an experienced group therapist. Matt specializes in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and uses an integrative approach that includes Psychodynamics, DBT, CBT, and Mindfulness. His experience includes outpatient mental health, substance use treatment, and inpatient psychiatry with issues of depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, relationship issues, and more.

Whether you are looking into the group for yourself or you’re a therapist looking to refer one of your clients please email info@pacsnyc.com for more information.
